One acre of hemp may spare up to four acres of forest from clear-cutting. Hemp textiles have a number of advantages over other fabrics. Compared to cotton, hemp is softer, warmer, more water absorbent, has three times the strength and is many times more durable. As a cosmetic, hemp oil is popular because of its ability to restore and moisten skin. Its essential fatty acids are readily absorbed into the skin cells. There are many reasons to choose hemp and Hemp-Products.ORG is committed to promoting hemp products.

Now it is nice to have clothing that looks like linen, feels like flannel and wears 2 to 3 times longer than cotton but this is only the tip of the iceberg. The real advantages of hemp are far more widespread.   Hemp can be used for everything from footwear to baby diapers and from lubricants to cookies.   In the early 1940s, Henry Ford developed a car that “grew from the soil”.  The car was fueled and fabricated from hemp and other plant matter.  It was 10 times stronger when struck with a sledgehammer, but only weighed only 2/3 as much as a car built from steel

Before we go on, we would like to make a very important point, HEMP IS NOT MARIJUANA! When we refer to “hemp” on this site we are specifically referring to industrial hemp made from cannabis Sativa L that by definition is either less than 1% THC or less than 1/3% THC. THC (delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol) is the potentially psychoactive chemical in marijuana and is not presently, nor historically, found in significant quantities in the hemp grown for fiber. Industrial hemp has no illicit use, it is the equivalent of non-alcoholic beer. To “get high” (Read Headache) from hemp an individual would have to smoke a joint the size of a telephone pole in a single sitting, this is humanly impossible.

Today we live in a modern society where pollutants and chemicals run rampant.  In the United States alone, more than 15,000 lakes and ponds stand barren due to contamination.  Almost daily we listen to horrifying news reports confirming the ever-expanding level of greenhouse gasses found in our atmosphere.  We stand by and watch while our native forests are cut for power and pressboard, being replaced not by fresh young saplings but by parking lots and landfills.  It is truly shameful that we can allow this to occur while such an obvious solution is so easily within our grasp.

We became involved with hemp for a variety of reasons but all of us agree that the time has come for especially the American population to become aware of the incredible resource that we are presently wasting in the United States. Hemp is the solution to many of the problems that are facing the modern world: deforestation, acid rain, the greenhouse effect, erosion, pollutants, starvation, limited fossil fuels, and hemp production could even provide jobs and increased revenues to our rural areas.

GROW HEMP EVERYWHERE!
